The project will provide a catalogue of the technologies of renewable energy including assessments of their applicability in the eThekwini metro area. 

Based on the priorities of the city the 4 most relevant action plans will be drawn up, designing how the city can promote these as adequate over the next 10 yrs. All of this tailor made for eThekwini. Nationally, RSA, though the white paper of the RE has committed to high ambitions: To increase its share of the energy provision from 1 to 4 % (4 times) in 10 years.  The success indicator for this project is that, based on the catalogue, eThekwini municipality will deliver well above this national target. The catalogue will be a part of the E-strategy being developed for eThekwini.
